Perhaps the most important aspect of a FIRE SMART HOUSE is the use of fire resistant materials.

- Concrete Walls

- ICF (insulated Concrete Forms)

- Steel Framing with Fire-Proof Coatings

 

One system that we use is the GIGACRETE BUILDING SYSTEM. This system uses metal stud framing and a proprietary interior and exterior plaster that is completely fireproof.

Other very important considerations are dual tempered glass windows with solid frames tested to AAMA standards, fire proof vents, and Class- A roofing materials.

Combustible materials should be avoided altogether.
